- Are you a mother of boys who often finds herself wanting to wave the white flag in defeat?
- Do they drain you, overwhelm you, steal your heart, break your heart and cause you more anxiety than you ever dreamed possible?
- Do you long to fight pro-actively for your boys, but just don’t know how to get ahead of the daily battle?
If so, you’re not alone.
It’s been three years since our community last joined together in collective prayer for our sons. Prayer is the most important, most vital, most life-giving part of our parenting. Unfortunately, it’s also the most overlooked. Here’s the truth:
The best way a mom can enter the battle for the heart of her son is on her knees.
There are so many books out there today on the topic of parenting boys that I can’t count them. Nor do I have time to read them all. But even if I did, reading these books and putting the solid tools in them to work still doesn’t come with guarantees.
Knowing this, it becomes quite clear that there is only one thing we can do…
Plead with God.
Pray.
Today, I challenge you to pray passionately and purposefully for the hearts of your sons with the MOB Society in the month of October.
Register for the fall edition of 21 Days of Prayer for Sons, and…

Praying for L-9, who is tenderhearted, but also struggles daily with impulse control, anger and general unhappiness. Praying for E-3 who is struggling with obedience. Hoping I can apply all this to my girls too 🙂 (L-7 and A-18 mo). Thank you for this challenge. I’ve had this book for a little while and this is just what I need to motivate me.
My whys are David 15, Andrew 13, and Jonathan 12. My hopes for them are that each day they would live and move and have their being in Jesus, the one and only, lover of their souls…that they would always rightly divide the word of truth…and they’d live all their days for the glory of God and not themselves.
Thomas 17, Nathan 7, Cameron 3, each with their own story and their own struggles. Thank you Brooke, for stirring us moms to passionately pray over our boys. If we don’t, who will
I am a single mom with 4 boys (Dejon-16, Kamron-14, Kaizen-4, Kenton-2). The older two are my biological children and the younger two I adopted from fostercare in March of this year (but have had since birth). In addition to the normal ups and downs of parenting my little ones have been through a scary traumatic event with biological mother while still in fostercare and have behavior issues as a result. I know my God is bigger than any problem they have. I pray for my older boys as they journey into young adulthood and for my littles as they overcome their pasts.
God bless you Jennifer. Our daughter is a single mother of 3 and she lives with us. I know the struggle she has just coping with the stress as she deals with all their needs. My husband and I are her support system. I hope you have one!
My parents are amazing support and my older boys help a lot with the younger ones. I am blessed to have several friends who are supportive as well. I will say a prayer for your daughter, grandkids and you all!
Thank God for your support system. As a grandparent, I don’t know anything better that I could invest in than the lives of my grandchildren and daughter that is trying to raise them. We also adopted our daughter from foster care.
19yr, wandering and not knowing what to do with his life… to turn life over to God
We have five boys: NW 7, NJ 5, RK 4, RC 2, and BK 6 months. My prayer is for heart transformation. This world needs strong men of God and I pray that they would be that, strong and tender-hearted.
Two delightful grandsons in our care to raise up in Jesus. So thankful for your support.
I’m in, praying for my boys, Dalton 4-1/2, and David 3-1/2. We adopted them, and they have trauma issues, need help raising my boys.
I have a 3 year old boy (all boy), and a 1.5 year old girl, excited for this prayer challenge!
Two boys, Jude (6), Ezra (4) and my hope for them is that Ezekial verse you posted, that God would take their hearts of stone and turn them into hearts of flesh.
Single mom of two boys… Ages 10 and 8. They both need a lot of prayers, especially during this challenging season in our lives.
Will-9, Peter-7 Ben-5 for them to know and love The Lord and follow His will for their lives.
I have a 20 month old son named Seth and I truly believe in the “power of a praying parent.”
My why is 2 yr old Josiah
Gavin 2.5yo. I pray that he falls madly in love with his heavenly father!
I have 2 sons (unknown baby due March 2015!) John is 6 and Isaac will be 2.
j- 21, m-18, z-15, j-6 praying!
I’m praying for my two sons 14,12. That the 14 year old will respect me and that I will control my anger towards him. That our relationship will be stronger and more meaningful. For both boys to be Godly, honorable, loving and respectful in all things they do.
My Ivan is a 12 year old sport model. Strong – willed and struggling to find where he fits in a peer group. Praying that he will choose to follow Jesus.
I have four boys 18 months, 5, 8, 10 and I would love to just cover them all in prayer.
Excited to be joining this to especially pray for our three sons!
My two reasons are Connor age 5 and Liam age 1. My dream is for them both to be mighty men of God and serve him with gladness till their old men. I did this challenge three years ago and can’t wait to see what God has in store this time.
I have a 14 year old son, just starting high school. Beyond the obvious of all kids needing daily prayer in today’s society, my son is similar to his sister, who found herself with the wrong group of friends in high school. As his mother, I have tried to instill Christian values in him, but he’s so combative and stubborn. I can only hope that what I’ve taught him will be enough.
Three very different boys; Isaac 11, Joshua 9, Ian 3. Anger and impulse control for one of them. Surrender to Jesus for all of them; that they would grow to be Godly men who seek God’s kingdom first. Patience for me as I homeschool them
Oh wow this is exactly what I think I need to help with praying for my son Ty. I want him to learn how to stay true to himself but follow school rules in kindergarten this year as it is proving very difficult!!
My four “whys” are 20, 16, 15, & 13.
For my sweet boys, 6 and 1, to strengthen their walk with Christ.
My why is 10 yr old Jaylon. I am praying for impulse and anger control, focus, a soft heart, consistency from me, Godly parenting skills, and a supernatural change in both of us.
My son has anger issues too. We had at home therapy for him and it really helped him out even though he tried to fight getting help. Praying changes lifes!!
My son is almost 4 and also has anger issues. I was at my wits end and pray for God to help me through this period in his life. I was about to take my son for counseling when I learned at a doctors appointment that my son has celiac disease (gluten allergy). In some cases, this causes severe anger issues and mood swings. This was the answer to my prayers. It was a simple blood test. Although our lives and diets will be ever changing, it is nice to have a partial answer to our prayers. I am telling you this in hopes the info I shared will somehow help you. Unless you have already gone this same route, maybe part of your son’s anger could be medical. Prayers to you and your son.
My two reasons are 19 & 17. I prayed a lot for them when they were younger, but as the teenage years rolled around, I got more and more frustrated! This will be a good direction change for me to get back in the habit.
3 boys means 3 times the prayers
For my 4 and 2 year old boys, everyone needs more prayer!
I have a 19yo Prodigal Son…praying for his return home.
I am with u in that. I will pray for your son. I ask that u pray for mine also. His name is Wyatt. He is 20. Completely on fire for Christ 4 years ago. Now, going in a completely opposite direction.
J 9, J 6, Z 1, K 2Each boy is unique and I have different prayers for each one. But I pray for all of them to accept Jesus into their hearts!
Proud.mommy of 6 boys Dylan 21..cameron 17 carson 13 Devin 12 Connor 10 Colin 5 months old…6 boys= lots of prayers
Ian…age 11
I just bought the book, so I guess that means I’m in! Phineas 4, Tobias (soon to be) 8, Casey (soon to be) 10. The two oldest are October boys so I thought what better way to celebrate their birthdays. The two oldest have become Christians and have recently been baptized. My hopes for each of them is that they become who God created them to be and that they would discover their talents and gifts; that they would marry godly women and raise children who are Christ followers too. That they would be best friends throughout their lives encouraging each other and builing up each other.
Oh and we homeschool.
My three reasons are 8, 6 and 3 🙂
Praying for my 2 year old, Raylan. I am not enjoying his toddler years, each day is a constant battle about everything. I have 4 children (2 girls ages 5 & 3 and 2 boys ages 2 & 4.5 months). I’m exhausted in my relationship with my Raylanbear. I’m extremely sad as to how hard it is to enjoy him right now.
Praying for my 10 & 13 year old boys!
Praying that my sons have a heart for God and an understanding of God’s love for us. Praying for them to be able to be strong in belief and stand up for what they believe and what is right! Preston, 10 & Pierce, 13.
My reason is for Tyler 16, Austin 14 and Dylan 13. We are dying on life support without a relationship rooted in prayer to our heavenly Father. Our boys need our prayer just as much as they need air to breathe.
Excited Mommy to our miracle son, Isaac, 5 months… We stood and believed and trusted Jesus for almost 13 years. I know I need the Lord in every area!!!
Benjamin Patrick, 7yrs old… my (tough) love
For my 12 year old Kelvin and my 10 year year old Jonathan. My hope is that they both seek HIM and live for HIM.
For Alex 14 and Dawson 11.
My loves are, Tate-14 and Bode-12.
Mother of 1 son , Austin. The love of my life. He’s soon to be 18. Learning to let go without ” letting go” So hard for us both.
I am a homeschooling mom of two boys, ages 6 and 4. We struggle in one form or another everyday and I need to be more intentional about praying for them (and myself!).
Just moved to a new city and are slowly settling! We have 3 boys, ages 8, 6, and 4. Committing to pray for God to carry them through our transition, for them to see His faithfulness, and for God to shape them into men who will live for Him.
My strong willed 3 year old boy is why I am doing this! Being an only parent, not just single, is proving to be a bit of a challenge so I’m praying for Godly parenting skills and patience for he and I both. I’m ready to get started!
I was an only, not just single, parent for ten years with my oldest. Prayers alongside you as you journey these next precious and trying years…you are only, but not alone!
Three reasons: Luke, 18- in his senior year and overwhelmed with life choices, Seth,16- discerning religious life and Ben,13-brave warrior of OCD,ADHD, and anxiety.
God be with you! I can relate. My brother and I struggle with ADHD and anxiety.
I love how you put that, Janine 🙂
I also have a son who is OCD. While he challenged us to every corner of our patenting we didn’t give up. After 5 years of counseling and praying, he is a United States Maine and we have never been prouder. He is also very strong in his faith. Stay the course and he’ll blossom.
I am right here with you. Take everything you said and roll it into 1 – 18 yo boy. : )
My son is 14 now. I’m dealing with a very intelligent young man with attitude. Lol. He’s not all that bad, just a typical teenager but has gotten away from God’s will for his life. Definitely going to do this for his future and spiritual needs. Struggling with raising a christain son in a world that detracts him from doing God’s will in his life. Material things come first to him so I have a lot of praying that is needed. The next four years are his last years in school and I will be praying for his future after high school! Praying for his soul mate even though he’s not even dating yet. Lol. He’s so precious to me and I love him dearly! ! I encourage other mothers or father’s to do this same challenge in October! ! God Bless!
Is there a prayer deal for daughter’s too? I have two incredible little girls! Children are a BLESSING from God!! Thank you Jesus for my three healthy and bright kids!!
My reason is Johnathan (2) and I pray for his well-being, his walk with Christ and that his uses his brilliant mind for the right reason. I also pray for my strength as a mother because he is an extremely active and fearless boy
Two boys: Joshua 9, Caleb 2. We always pray they would be mighty men of God. That is our ultimate dream for them.
We have a Joshua, 6, & Caleb, 1, too. Praying same, and that they’d be willing to go against the flow/stand up for what is right.
Proud mom of 2 wonderful boys, 17 & 12…one in the middle of his teen years & one about to begin his teen years! Yep…lots of prayers needed! 😉
Single mom with two amazing sons, Cole – 11 and Luke – 8. Completely opposite personalities and temperaments. With joint custody, they’re being raised in two very different environments. I’m praying for their Heavenly Daddy’s love and purpose to grow deep, deep roots in their hearts. Looking forward to getting to know everyone.
praying for my very strong willed son who is 3. Need a prayer that he starts talking.
My 3 life changers: B- 12, J- 10, A- 7. Praying constantly for all, and myself and husband in raising them.
I’m in! My four boys are 13, 8, 8, & 5. I need all the help I can get! So excited!
My “why” are my boys Nick 15 and Nathen 9. Both so opposite with different prayer needs. I know the Lord is will be there with them both.
My sons name is Joshua. He is 18 my prayer is for the Lords guidance in his life. For his anger issues and his well being. I also pray for our wisdom in parenting him.
for my son’s who are 15 and 10. Lord keep their hearts pure, their eyes on Him, to love deeply and be kind. I also lift them up in their academic lives too.
Doing this for my 13 month old Colin and our newest boy due in October! My hopes are my boys grow up to love and serve Jesus with all their hearts.
Aidan, 5; Robbie, 4 months. My prayers for my A are huge. He is struggling with obedience and self-control big time right now. He wants to do better, but there is some disconnect happening. He always says, “I want to be an obedient Christ like kid!” I pray that we can find ways to help that happen.
For my 12 and 14 year old boys. Love them so much.
My boys are 11 and 13 and have special needs and health issues.Praying for their recovery.
Praying for my 16 year old Sam for his heart to open as he enters this phase of his life that he his choices are guided by a love of Christ.
My son is 5 (almost 6). I have been in prayer for him since the day he was conceived. He puzzles me often and I see him starting to have questions about God. I pray that God will speak to his heart and draw my son to Him. I’m so thankful for this ministry. I love having the focus for praying for my son in all the different areas. Thank you!!
Thomas 9, Johnny 7 – my desire is that my boys grow in strength and wisdom and that they become men of unshakeable faith.
First: Two “prodigals — my stepsons, who are 25 and 23, and who both made a profession of faith in 2005 but by the end of high school had subscribed to their mother’s way of life and turned away from just about everything my husband and I tried to teach them. I developed fibromyalgia from the struggles (mental, emotional and most definitely spiritual!), fear, worry, and the sleepless nights we lived through trying to reach the hearts of these boys when they were mired in their bad choices, until one summer, after they were both out of high school, we had to tell them they could not live in our house any longer since they could not abide by the rules of the home. (The danger and example they were to the then-nine-year-old was part of the problem as well.) With the 23-year-old in particular, the life choices have remained the same and in some cases, worsened. He doesn’t answer the phone when we call and rarely returns the call. Neither of them has ever expressed any regret or remorse for the way they behaved under our roof.
Second: that young boy we were trying to protect and defend against the sinful choices of his stepbrothers is now 15. He has a good heart, and most of the time he does what he should (though not always with a good attitude). I see him trying out attitudes and social groups, trying to figure out who HE is and what is important to HIM….and the priorities are usually upside-down these days, and “self” is definitely his first consideration,
have an only child. nearly 20yrs old, about to leave home and he doesn’t believe in God, despite having a faith filled upbringing…..praying for him always.
three boys ages 8, 5, 2… I’ve been so busy wijth a recent move…I forget to pray specifically for them.
Why? 17, 15, 13, 10, 3… my boys. ..
Ages 6,4 and 9 months. Each one I have different areas. Oldest struggles with ADHD and temper. Middle with temper and whining, and youngest sleep issues.
T-7 & L-4 are my why. I am praying for them to be loving and kind in a world that is not and to be leaders of their generation for Christ.
For my 6 week old. He has only seen nicu walls since the day he was born and we discovered he has congenital heart disease. Praying for his complete healing and deliverance from this disease and for his relationship with Christ.
Joining to pray for my 13 year old, who just started high school. Praying for him to stand firm.
Ages 9 & 6. Oldest has ADHD and is very stubborn. Youngest is extremely strong-willed and disrespectful. But I love them anyway. I pray that they will overcome their challenges (and I survive until then) but more importantly I pray they will love the Lord and lean on Him to provide all that they need.
Patrick – 14 in November. He struggles in school and is behind in his reading level. He was also diagnosed with Inattentive ADD and feels defeated because of his struggles. I pray that God gives him confidence and assurance that he can overcome this.
My 12 year old – he is logically aware of the importance of obeying God’s word, etc.. but I yearn for God to make Himself known to Him in a relational connection that only the Spirit can do. He has aspergers and other neurological challenges that make comprehension and relating emotionally a challenge. And for my 10 year old, who seems to be on fire for Jesus, yet still struggles with his strong will to go his own way sometime. For the spirit to ignite a fire that takes him genuinely on in pursuing Christ likeness and deepening his relationship with the Lord.
Tobias (6), Mathias (8 months) – to know Jesus and make Him known. To be men of influence and wisdom
My why is my 4 yr old son. I pray he will learn to follow Jesus with his whole heart as he grows and be filled with selflessness, strength and love instead of selfishness, anger and violence.
I have 2 sons, ages 3 and 9 months. As I consider the challenges that lay I know I need a lot of God’s grace and that prayer is going to be one of the biggest ways that I can help them through their lives.
For my 14, M, I love him and want him to have peace in his heart
I have 3 boys – all great boys but they are hitting their teens years – one already 15 going to be 16. They face so many daily challenges and I wish I could solve them all for them but I know I can’t as they must learn and God must teach them also. So praying for them will be a wonderful way for me to help. I do pray already but look forward to this 21 days of different praying. 🙂
I’m in! My “why” is an adorable 5 year old named Ryan who has decided to throw fits when things don’t go his way. I’ve decided that, “Stop that!” or “Be self-controlled. You are in charge of you,” isn’t cutting it anymore. Only God can change that little boy’s heart.
For my 16 year old son and the many friends he brings home!
Count me in! I’m praying for my oldest of 3 kiddos and my only boy. We’re starting into the next stage of boyhood at age 9 and I need to PRAY! 🙂
I have two boys, Sam: 17 and Owen: 5. My boys are good in character and behavior (for the most part!) But the attitude needs some work! I know that God is the only one that can change the heart…and I am hoping that the prayer challenge with strengthen them AND me!
P-11, S-7, L-3
All three of my boys are falling into the Hard 2 Handle type (which I’m also signed up for, because… BOYS!!). It’s hard for me to pray for them, I’m not exactly sure what they need prayer for. Or how to pray for them. I can’t wait for this challenge!
I ABSOLUTELY plan on praying for my boy!! We are going through a season of conflict and I KNOW I have been led her for this purpose! He is 9, his name is Aiden, and he is my greatest joy…and my greatest challenge! And I am thankful for him beyond words! SO excited to participate!
I started praying for my son the moment I knew I was having a baby, but now that he has started Kindergarten I feel such a deeper burn in my heart to pray for him. His life is before him and I know he was made by our God for our God. My boy’s name is Jack, he is six. My Jack has an outspoken voice and energy that won’t quit, so my prayer is what others may try to contain that God may use to share His love. I commit to this challenge.
3 beautiful reasons to join this endeavor, Sean who is 25, legally blind, and a software engineer living his dream. Sam who is 23, a buyer with a manufacturing company who just learned a valuable lesson in his career through prayer. Seth who is 20 with OCD and a United States Marine. I am so incredibly proud of my boys who all know Jesus as their Lord and Savoir and are starting their walks as young men who will someday be husbands and father’s. I am excited to continue to pay for them.
Why? E 12, I 10Our boys would grow to know God and make Him known in all they do. E. would take on the attitude of Christ Jesus and have a diligent spirit and heart. I. would continue to seek to know God more and continue to not bow down to the pull of the world.
T 37 and S 26. Sons are never to old for prayer. Both believers, S running and T just trying to figure where he fits
My two boys are ages 13 & 11 and I need to pray for them since they’re getting to the stage in life when they’ll be growing into young men.
Because even though he is almost 19 he still needs prayer.
L- age 7; E-age 6; D-age 3 Three boys with three different ways of living life. Praying for them as they grow towards independence. Youngest is foster son (we’ve had him for a year) who is really struggling and whose future family is uncertain; older two to have the heart of Jesus in the midst of messy circumstances.
I am praying for Harry,9, he has a heart of gold, but very immature for his age, so much so that he struggles finding friends whenever we move, every 4 years, because they think he is annoying. However he is so smart. William,7, he loves God, but has so many anger issues, some from steroid use because of his skin condition and just a why me attitude, if we don’t get it under control I fear for his future. Alex who is almost 3, because I know the praying needs to start now. I would rather be on the preventing side.
15 and 12 year old reasons….different as night and day but trying to raise both to be real men, and more importantly, men of God
B 3. I am a 29 year old widow and trusting God to partner with me to raise my son to be a godly man
My son is 3 (CT) and we are just in a transitional period with him that doesn’t seem to end. It’s one of the longest milestone/transitions, so far. I hope that through this prayerful time, that together, we are able to address these challenges more positively that we seem face almost daily. There’s a lot of transition in our home and these 21 days are just falling right in line with a lot of other things. I’m really hopeful.
I am committed to praying for my boys in October. My boys are 2 and 6 months. Most days, I feel like a failure as a mom. I want them to see their mama as a strong woman of the Lord. I want them to be a light for Jesus in this dark world. That is what I’m praying for. 🙂
For my 13 year old son…middle school, girls are calling…I pray daily for good decisions…I’m looking forward to this challenge for more specific prayers.
I will be praying for my 21year old son James. That he will find a church home while he’s in college, and for him to return to the joy of his salvation!
My whys are Trace (10) and Noah (9). My hope for them is to grow into loving, respectful, men of God and for them to love and cherish each other as brothers.
I have a seven month old boy and a 22 month old daughter. I feel burdened to focus on my son in prayer and other things as he could easily become overshadowed by his whirlwind sister and I believe God has great things for him.
Tell us about your “why,” for joining this challenge. What’s his name? How old is he? What are your hopes for him?
My “why” is that my boys are such special gifts from God but they take a lot of work. My 6yo Bryan is a challenge with his defiant personality and excessive amount of energy. I want to be able to be able to focus on making good choices and being able to listen when people are trying to teach and help him. He knows who God is and I just want Bryan to rely on Him and know that he is loved so dearly. Bowen is my 3yo and he is such a sweet soul. He’s learning from his brother some habits that are not so great. I just want for Bowen to continue to learn about having God in his heart. I want both of them to be sure of who they are and learn discernment, gratitude, and respect. I love how much my boys are strong willed individuals and I know one day they will be great men and leaders, but right now I need them to let me and my husband parent them God-willing to learn the right morals and values of our family.
I Will be joining. I have been praying for my three teen boys so much but I want to pray scripture over them intentionally as I did three years ago on the last challenge. I still pray verses over them but this is a great time to get serious. My boys are 15, 14, and 13. As homeschoolers, It’s their first full year in a big school. It is a Christian School and we are thankful.
I have two young boys – 5 and 1…I so want them to love and know Jesus as they grow older…I know this can only be accomplished through God!
Praying for my sweet 10 year old. May he walk in the light of Jesus!
Why for my son C:16, moving to a new town starting a new High School and discerning who God is in his life – for me so that I can let go and let God lead him.
My whys are David, 7 & Daniel, 4. I am excited to pray with all of you!
I have a copy of Warrior Prayers: Praying the Word for Boys by Brooke L. McGlothlin. It seems to have just about the same content as this new one. Do I need to purchase Praying for Boys to follow along? Or can I use the Warrior Prayers copy?
My why is an 8 year old boy named Owen. He is a bright shining light in my life. A performer. A talker. A reader. My cuddle bug. Sensitive, sweet and serious. But a total goofball at the same time. He lost his daddy almost three years ago, and I lost my husband. We have walked the road of grief together, and I have felt like we have been on the path to healing…especially this past year. But recently I have noticed that underneath all of those wonderful qualities, he seems to be so very sad. And angry. As these feelings resurface in a much older and bigger child, I am heartbroken all over again. When I saw this challenge in my email today, I knew I had to join. I need to take my son’s broken heart and lay it before the Lord. To ask him to restore joy to my son’s life. To help him find a peace and a purpose in his pain. I look forward to praying with everyone, and I have faith that the Lord will hear our prayers and move in the hearts of our sons, their mothers, and our homes.
Praying for my son A 5 who is the light of my life, that he will become a God fearing God loving man!
I’m all in! I have four amazing children, two of which are boys. They are on the opposite ends of the spectrum and I sometimes feel like I am spinning in circles trying to meet their needs. My greatest desire as a parent is to have my boys fall in love with Jesus and with God’s Word. The only thing I know to do is to live it in front of them. Thank you for helping me to do just that. 🙂
My three are 13,6, and 4….our daily prayer that they will be godly men of valor, compassion and integrity.
My son, Austin, is 4 years old. I pray for him to love Jesus with all his heart and I want him to grow into a strong, godly, man.
I have two ‘whys’. Q (age 4) and A (age 7). They have very different personalities, so my prayers for them differ, but ultimately, I pray for them to follow Christ with their whole hearts and allow Him to guide every decision they make.
I have three sons, 18, 15, &12. My oldest leaves for college Friday. My middle is a 10th grader dealing with the peer stuff, and my youngest is a preteen. My prayer for them is that they seek first the kingdom of heaven. Thank you for this opportunity to pray in a specific way for them.
I have two boys ten years apart, Christopher-15, and Dale-5. My youngest has major anger problems and is always demanding, fit throwing, high anxiety when things don’t go his way. He is always needing 110% of our attention. It gets very frustrating at times, there is never a dull moment and never ever a quit time until its time for bed. My oldest is your typical teen with attitude. I feel like I get torn in two trying to please both the boys as well as the husband. I find myself praying more and more for my family each day. I pray that they find peace in there selves and not get so frustrated and angry, things always have a way of working out. especially when god is on your side. I tell them, Calm down, take a deep breath think before you do and ask for guidance.
I want to be so much more of a prayer-warrior mom! I pray for my kids, but not as an every day commitment. I have a 7yo son who is finding his independence and needs prayerful guidance as he matures. I also have a 4yo son who is definitely my stubborn and defiant one. It deeply pains him to be reprimanded, yet he pushes the limits constantly. I pray for his fierce spirit to be used as an intense fire to burn for God! I deeply long for my boys to know and love their God and that the gifts and personalities God gave them would be used for His purpose.
I’ve got a 14 year old boy, a 6 year old boy who we adopted at 2 and has fasd and adhd and we currently have a 2 year old foster boy and are working on adopting our son’s 7 month old half brother! They all have different needs but my 6 year old really needs to be covered in prayer! (We also have a 12 year old daughter in there)
Praying for my precious littles: Brighton (6) and Cohen (1).
Matthew is 10 & Joshua is most 6 and God has been convincing me of my need to trust Him with them and the shaping of their hearts. This challenge is timely and I look forward to all He will do in my husband and me and our sons.
My son is Che, he is 2 years old & I pray for him on his walk with Jesus. <3
I have two little boys, Jones (23 months) and Freddie (8.5 months). Big picture, I’m praying that they’ll both accept Christ as their Savior at early ages and seek Him first all the days of their lives, that they will never stray from their “first love” of Him. Specifically, though, I’m praying for Jones, as he learned patience, obedience, and how to control his temper, and I’m praying for Freddie to continue to grow and develop as he should.
My name is Sarah and I have 3 boys.Jordan 12
Joshua 10
Joseph 5
I commit myself to the praying for boys challenge for the month of October. My older son is in middle school and lacks motivation for school and reading the word. My other two boys are exuberant boys. I will be praying for motivation, desire and passion for the things of the Lord and school. And so much more more that I know I will be having to deal with as they grow. Iwil be praying especially for wisdom on how to mangae/handle the situation as they come.
My sweet Sawyer is 2.5 and he is so curious and full of fun and life right now! I want so much to see him grow up to be a man after God’s own heart! We are deep in the throws of tantrums, and seeking more and more independence, but we are also deep in the throws of him becoming a person – and exerting his unbelievably silly and sweet personality, and starting to become who he will be for life. I pray he will always be silly, and sweet, and that he will use his stubborness for good. 🙂 But most of all I pray that he will constantly seek the Lord’s will for his life!
Hi There. Just tried to purchase your book at Barnes & Noble but it said I was not available for Canadians. I wonder if I can get it at my local book store? Anyway, just wanted to say that this is very timely and something that I truly need. Life seems to have tossed our family some curve balls and we are all feeling stressed and the need for peace in our lives and situations. My son is 16, and though he is a child of God and knows Him through Christ, he is still dealing some issues and I want to be a better Mom, to be able to be the example that he needs when knowing and learning how to deal with life situations. Mostly I want to be able to point him to Christ, the true example of love and grace. So I hope I can find the material in time and be able to join you all. Blessings.
I have 3 boys (all names start with A) A-8, A-5, A-3. The first is definitely my H2H boy, and it truly gives you a different perspective when your first child is the hard-to-handle boy. You expect the same challenges with all 3 and worry about the same issues; however, God has proven over and over that He is there in my weakness (and often cluelessness). I pray that first and foremost they each find Jesus and trust God to order the steps of their lives. I also pray for the wisdom and direction to help raise godly men.
I have 4 boys ages 10, 7, 4, and 2.
My reason is Eddie (19 months). He’s an energetic, rambunctious and sweet boy! We have a newborn at home that he loves and is trying to be such a great helper! My prayer is that he keeps this selfless nature about him throughout his whole life and uses it to glorify God!
Joining this challenge to cover my boys Gabe (3) and Myles (1) in prayer!! Praying for God’s protection over them and that God’s light will shine through them.
I want to pray for my son Jax (4) so he can use all that energy and spirit in his little body to love the Lord and be a good role model for his two sisters (Josie, 1 1/2 and Jules Harper, 6 months). I want him to know God, have a service heart, be a southern gentleman, know how to treat people (especially girls) and to grow into a wonderful man that will one day be praying for his children.
I love him more than I can express but there are definitely days where I don’t know what to do or say because of his behavior. There have been times that I just say, “Dear Lord….” and I don’t know how to put the rest of the prayer into words. So I hope this challenge will give me the right words to pray and keep them on my heart for future reference
I have 3 boys Matthew 8, Caleb 14 1/2 & Joshua 17 1/2 (Joshua has high functioning Autism) I need to pray for all of my boys every day. Matthew is a sweet, cuddly little guy, however he struggles with impulsive behavior & trying really hard to be like his older brothers, (the good & the not so good stuff.) Caleb is the quiet, well behaved boy, really creative, loves the arts & he is so good with little ones, athletic, however at times he struggles with peer pressure, & wanting to please everyone until he gets burned out, communication is hard for him. Joshua is super smart, he’s our little Einstein, loves to make movies, loves history & current war events, he’s passionate about human rights. He struggles with anger, & outbursts, & forgiveness.
My son is 8 and his name is Brandon Hamby. He is the middle child. I’m learning a lot about positions in the family placement. Brandon is a bit hyper and he has 2 sisters (one older and one younger). He can be a struggle at times with his strong personality. He is very analytical. My prayer for him is for me to understand exactly how the Lord wants me to parent His child. For his gifting’s to be revealed so that we can start honoring God in them. For our son to know how much he is loved, cherished, honored and appreciated. For us to show him love how he feels love, to be patient with him and help him blossom into who He wants him to be. In Jesus’s name Amen
Single Mom with a 12 year old son, Nick. We are entering into a season of girls and other distractions. I am so excited to be covering my son and the rest of the boys in prayer together with all you moms! I am fireing my blog back up to document this season!
Count me in! I pray for my son (Dane-14) daily, but imagining the power of the MOB community has me very excited! Thank you for sponsoring a priceless opportunity!Michelle
I am a mom of 4…..3 boys and 1 girl!!! My boys are 19, 16, and soon to be 12. We are in a new season in our house with the 19 yr old away at college and the 16 yr old heading to colllege in just 2 years. I’m finding myself praying more and more for my two oldest boys as they make important choices for the future and as they’re dealing with temptations from all sides!!! Prayer is my weapon but lately I’m feeling too overwhelmed to pray more than just a sentence here or there. I did the challenge 3 years ago and I saw God do some great things in me and my oldest. I’m excited to see God move again!!!!
Momma of 3 boys; Jacob 15, Luke 10, Taylor 7, and one little special needs princess named Lizzie 3. Two of my kiddos are adopted, I forget which two ;). We are a military family and move frequently. The boys just recently started new schools and are trying to make new friends. I pray Godly people are placed in their lives and they can shine for the kingdom!
I am excited for this…I have four boys – Jacob 8, Sam – 6, Bennett – 4 and Luke 6 months.
I’m joining in!! My boys are 5 and 7 and are both a handful with special needs.
I have 2 sons, both entering new stages of life. Marcus is almost 30, he’s a wonderful godly man, but has a food addiction and weight problem. Since he’s getting older my husband and I are concerned about his poor health. Christopher is 14 and just started his first year of high school. He homeschools and also participates in sports, classes and chapels at our local Christian school. I just want to see his walk with the Lord mature and have direction for his future.
I am joining the challenge because my son is at a transition right now. His name is Jaden and he is 9 years old. My hopes for him is to be a respectful, hardworking, and well rounded young man who has a great foundation to become an amazing man.
My four whys are 15, 14, 10 and Unknown. When I pray for my sons, I also pray for my future son-in-law. Currently, my 15 yr is against all things Christian, Christ, God, etc. He says he doesn’t care how the world began or where he is going when he dies. Thinks the whole God thing is pretty much a fairy tale. I am worried not only about him, but the influence he will have on his younger siblings. I pray that the middle son, who is a great athlete and a natural leader will know who gives him his gifts and that we use his skills to bring honor and glory to God. I pray that my youngest son will continue to grow and mature in his faith.
My sweet boy in Andrew, and he’s 7 weeks old. I pray God captivates him even now so that he grows in a man that desires God alone!
I am a stay at home mom with two boys, ages 3 and 1. My boys are very high energy and as I am home schooling the older for preschool, I am finding myself at my witts end more often than not. My boys are strong willed, and my hope for this challenge is to bring a peace to our relationship and to their lives.
What a privilege to be able to pray together for our sons! I am a single mom of 2 teen-agers: Jack who will be 17 in October & Michael who is 15. They are my greatest joy! The desire of my heart is for them to be godly men. It is such a challenge & a blessing to be a mom of 2 boys!
My Why’s are three teenage boys – 16,15, & 14. All use to be a bundle of joy, now my house seems to be out of control. With the fighting between the brothers, and how I can’t control it anymore. They are all bigger then me now and dad works away and comes home on weekends. They all know God, thank you Jesus, but are confused in someway, and are dealing with the hormones raging in them right now.
For my 3 boys! J-12, Z-10, R-8May they recognize Jesus’ voice in their lives and may they always follow him.
My why is 19 and he has lost his way……praying for my prodigal to return home.
Praying for Jack who is struggling with school and faith. And my other boys Patrick, Kevin and Mark to be godly men aimed at heaven.
I have 3 “whys:” Kayle, 13; Jamyn, 11; & Tegyn, 7. I am joining you because I know prayer works & I need some accountability. Thanks. Thanks, too, for the $2 book!
My Reily is 13. A true warrior who wants to love Jesus and has made the public commitment to follow him through baptisim. My prayer is despite these tumultuous teen years God would hold tight to my boys heart. This mom has made many mistakes and my prayer is that Jesus will guide my heart and my husbands so we can communicate God’s love through us to our sweet, strong willled, argumentative boy. I also am praying earnestly that our seet girl, Ashton, who is 17, will continue to grow in her walk with the Lord. I know this is for mom’s of boys, but I have been blessed with one of each. Tprswife.
My boys are Luke 11, Levi 7 and Logan 1. My reason for joining is because I want my boys to have a personal relationship with Jesus and what better way for that to happen is for their mother who is on her knees seeking the Lord to make it happen 🙂
My son Elliot (9) is a sweet kid. We are homeschooling for the first time this year which is full of joys and struggles. I want him to continue to love God and to love learning about the world around him. I want his heart and soul and mind to be guided and protected as he enters the tween and teen years.
My handsome son, Keegan is fixing to turn six next month. His lil brother, Elijah is also due to make his big debut next month as well. My step son, Jeremiah (6), who lives out of state, is only in our lives a few months a year. My prayer for him specifically is not only due to the distance between he and his father, but the anger issues he is facing at such a young age!We are a Home School family and are preparing for the HOME WATER BIRTH of Elijah at this time. I pray that my boys always look to the Lord and have a devoted heart for serving him. For me as a mother, I pray to always guide them down the path that God has laid out for them, to be patient and wise through our journey.
Hi! I’m a mother to three little boys. Brayden (4 years), Jacob (2 years), and Lucas (8 months). My hope is to raise them with a solid foundation to build their own relationships with Christ. <3
I am single mom with an 8 yr old trying to help him with losing his grandma and non believing lukewarm dad. I am so excited and encouraged by this challenge
Isaac 4.75 years oldOur goal is for Isaac to grow up to be the man of God that God designed him to be.
I can write forever, but I’m going to leave it at that. Blessings to all of you.
My “why” is a 13 year old boy and a 6 year old boy. I want them to feel peace, strength, and love from our family, within theirselves, and from God! Here’s to 21 days!!
I have three little tender-hearted warriors: Maverick is 5, Titan is 3, and Dax is three months. Totally different personalities and still the best of friends. 🙂 I’m praying for all of our sons and for us as we make this commitment.
My 3 year old son, MJ, is my why. My prayer for him is that he be courageous yet gentle, grow up to be a good man in a storm, learn to be resilient, prayerful and joyful. There is so much in this world that will test him and me as we grow together and learn from each other along the way. I pray that these 21 days of praying for the heart of our sons will help fortify our families and lead us to learn how to love each other and trust Him with everything.
My boys are 6, 4, and 19 months. Full of life and energy, but needing God’s direction, especially while they are still small. I’m excited about this challenge!
Aloha Moms. I am looking forward to reading this book and joining the challenge. I have 4 sons. My boys are all different. Different personalities and needs. My prayer is that I am able to pray for each of them and how the Lord will use them.
I have 4 amazing boys that I believe, without a doubt, could use more prayer and intercession from their mum. We are a blended family so not all our boys are centrally located making it so much more difficult to guide and lead them. Colby is our oldest, age 19 and a pt college student; Kyle is 14 and struggling with identity and the pressures of being a teenager in this crazy world; Gregory is 12 and wears his love language on his sleeve; and finally our baby boy in the group Zachary is 11 – he is feisty, energetic, and ornery. I’m looking forward to locking arms with other #MOB moms and covering our future men with prayer!
My whys are 18 & 21. First and foremost I pray that they accept Jesus and lead a “christ” like life. My 18 yr old is a U.S. Marine and the 21 yr old is in his 3rd yr of college. Both are faced with difficult “life” choices.
I’m in! God knows him!
I am joined and committed to praying for my two boys (14 and 12). I purchased the book for some guidance and hoping 3 of my other friends will be joining and we can all pray together for God to guide our boys, watch over our boys, and keep them safe.
Duke who is 18 months and a very sweet handful!
Three boys, 15, 12, and 10. This challenge is coming with perfect timing, as they’ve been dealing with a lot at school lately. Praying for peace and understanding as we sort through all the trials they’re facing. Also praying they continue to stand strong in their Christian faith.
I have a son, 12 1/2, and will be praying for God’s healing in his life from a traumatic experience with a teacher in 4th grade which has changed our journey. Will be praying that God will heal him and allow him to move forward and into a godly man who loves the Lord and is a man of integrity.
For Isaiah my only son that he will know and love God as much as I love him. And that he will grow up to be a respectful, loving , caring man.
I’m joining! I’m a single mom of a little boy who is turning 7 in the middle of this challenge.
Casey, just turned 18, special needs- ADHD, OCD, Asperger’s…prayers for his understanding of Jesus (he was baptized a few years ago but has communication/comprehension issues) & also prayer for opportunities for his future.
I have four “whys” – Camden (9), Lincoln (8), Griffin (6) and Carsten (4). My prayer is for them to follow God’s will for their lives, for them to learn to be strong Godly men of good character and for wisdom for my husband and me as we guide them
I am a single mother of 2 boys (Cameron, 7 and Carter, 5). I often times feel so overwhelmed as a single parent and my actions seem to rarely match my hearts intent. Lately, my youngest son has been displaying a lot of anger, defiance, and disobedience. I am choosing to war on my knees in prayer for both he and my oldest. I pray for direction, empathy, understanding, and to learn how to lovingly correct and discipline my children. I’m also believing God for dedicated Godly male role models for my sons as their father is in and out of their lives as well as in and out of prison. My expectation is that God will continue to increase the peace of my children as I continue to raise and teach them about Christ!
My reason is I have felt an urgency to be more intentional about praying for my son John(8) as I become more aware of my inability to change his heart, bring peace to his soul, or empower him to become a godly young man. Prayer is my way of surrendering him to the only One who can accomplish those things in him.
My “why” is my only child, Mykel. He’s 17 and a Senior this year. This year is such a bittersweet one for me. I am so proud of the man he is becoming, yet so heartbroken that he is no longer a little boy dependent on & needing his mommy. I hope that he continues on his walk with the Lord and grows in his faith.
S will be 2 in a few days. I pray for him to grow in the wisdom and confidence that it takes to stand for Christ in this world where most just go with the flow. I pray he will influence others for good. I pray he will know God in a powerful and personal way. I love love love that boy!
I’m in. I’ll be praying for Cameron (3) and Coleman (6). I know the Lord blessed me with these boys for a purpose. I just want the world to see the light they have inside them. Praying this lets me do that.
Mine is 6.
Praying for my three boys (ages 12, 9, and 6)
I have three boys 9,6, and 4. Finding this blog tonight is an answer to prayer. Things have been pretty miserable lately and I have been praying to find joy in this journey of motherhood. Thank you for this challenge!!
I am a mother of 3 boys… Christian is 9, Caden is 8, and Matthew is going to 7 soon. My boys are my world. We relied on our faith to get us through the horrible times of our life when I was still married to their dad. My boys have adjusted slowly, but excellently to my divorce 4 years ago and to my marriage to their step father 1 year ago. We pray together, go to church together, and openly talk about stories from the Bible daily. They watched their step dad go through classes and convert to our faith, making our relationships with God that much better. However, Christian was born at 21 weeks gestation and definitely has his struggles cognitively. Caden has a huge heart, but a huge temper as well. Matthew is a very sweet boy, but like Caden he is quick to anger. My hope is to continue to guide my sons in faith as well as in life. I pray for them every day and night, but we can always use more prayers! Thanks in advance 🙂
An Has it really been 3 years?!?! Thank you for motivating me to be an intentional praying mom. I will gladly join the forces of praying for my 9 y.o. son Sheldon. I’ve always looked at God blessing me with my son as an 18 year journey to raising him to be a God-filled man…someone’s college student, roomate, boyfriend, employee, friend…which will lead to the kind of husband, dad, & employer he will be. I constantly worry that my words or actions are going to scar him & I’m going to miss my opportunity to mold him into a successful, spiritual, grounded man with a magnetic personality who loves God above all, then his family. Praise God that I still have 9 more years to that gateway year.
We have 4 boys, I desire to lift them up in prayer. I already receive emails from MOB will I automatically get the prayer challenge ones in October?
I am mom to 5… 3 of whom are boys. Landen (20 and homegrown), Isaac (17 and adopted domestically at 5 1/2 months old) and Benjamin (6 and adopted last January from China). Each one has a special need of some sort. My prayer is for their hearts to be soft and for the Holy Spirit to capture them with his grace.
I have two boys, 4 and 10mo. The oldest is sensitive, needs lots of cuddles, and is slow to warm up to new people and situations. I struggle to give him the attention he craves/needs while also caring for the baby. He sometimes says things like “You don’t love me.” or “I wish brother wasn’t here.” While I know some of this is normal, it breaks my heart and makes me feel like I’m already causing a great divide in this sibling relationship. Our prayer for our boys is 2 Peter 3:!8…grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Grayson-age 5. Because we should always pray for our children! Excited to try something new 🙂
thank you, my name is Sofia, my son is Nicholas, he is 2 1/2. Why “Because he need it now and will need it later and because prayers are like seeds and I will sow later”.I hope he become a man after God’s own heart and become passionate about the Lord. Thank you for this beautiful challenge, I am going to be here.
Blessing.
Sofia
My twin 2 yr old sons, Isaiah and Elijah. Praying for their souls, their hearts, and their health and protection. Praying for strength, wisdom, and grace, for this mommy! 😉
I am brand new to this site and am excited to find such a great resource! I have three boys, ages 8, 4 and 8 months. We need lots of prayer!
I am a mom of three boys, one set of fraternal twins. My boys are 22 months and the twins are two months. I have three boys under two!! I need all the prayer I can get for me…oh wait this is about them ;-). I pray for their health and safety as well as gaining confidence. We want them to grow up and be a role model of godly men. I also feel it’s not to early to pray for their sweet wives; I don’t want to give them away but I know I must. And for them to have the best they need to be modeling and living a faithful life.
For my adult son. He was raised in a christian home, but I have seen him creep away from the truth a little more each day. I think it has happened so gradually that he does not even realize.
I am in! Thanks! Sharon
I’m joining the challenge as a single mom of two boys ages 4 and 2. I love them to the moon and back and want them to grow to be Godly men with great character. I know without a shadow of a doubt that will only be done through God’s help!
I have 2 boys, Jacob is 10 and Andrew is 8. Jacob has just begun middle school and has been asking lots of questions about how can we believe that the Bible is really true and not just a bunch of made up stories. (we keep encouraging him to ask questions, so that his faith is his own and not just Mom and Dad’s faith). Praying that this questioning will help settle things in his mind and he can then lead his friends to Christ. Andrew is working through ADHD issues, some anger, outbursts, focus, etc. Also, Andrew is working through the fact that he is adopted (both boys were adopted as infants). Even though he is in a home where he is loved beyond words, he still needs to work through this. Praying that he allows God to show him that there has been a plan for him since the beginning of time and he is exactly where he is supposed to be. 🙂
My “whys” are 8 year old Jack and 7 year old Sam

My “whys” are Anderson 7, Preston 5, Dominic 2, and Sebastian 6mo, and maybe most especially my child by heart but not by womb, my step son Mason.
I have 2 wonderful children, Hunter and Mariah. Hunter is 6 years old. He is a smart little boy who is on fire for God! He loves the Lord with all his heart. My Prayer for him is that he can learn how to control his anger and his emotions a little better. I’m praying that the Lord will help me to understand his feelings and to help us to work together. He is my mini me which causes a lot of friction. I love my baby and would like to end as many of the arguments as possible!
I am a mother to three young men: Thomas 28, Stanley 23 & Joshua who will be 18 next month… While my role as a mother is changing, I am filled with the regret of what I did not do while they were young… my prayer is that they will each be a man of God and will lead their families as such!! I want them to be Difference Makers!!! May I walk in the light of The Lord and let my light shine Jesus to those around me… Lord please put Godly people in the paths of my sons so that they can see you in themselves… May they run to You Lord!!!!
Joining in on the Prayer Challenge for my three boys: Ian (20 & a newlywed); Sean (14); and Christopher (12).
My son, 16-year-old Kameron, is so far off the path I’m positive he can’t even see it any more. I know God is the answer.
I have 2 boys, one 3 (Russell) and 8 months (Rowen)! My 3 year old is highly sensitive and might be a little ocd. He’s going through such a hard season and I know he needs me, but I’m not sure how. He’s dealing with strong emotions and I desperately want to be there for him and desperately need God’s guidance to show me how to raise this beautiful gift He created for His purposes.
I have two sweet boys: Brighton is almost 5, and Micah is almost 3. I am praying that both of my boys grow up to be men after God’s own heart. That their lives would be a witness to God’s greatness, mercy, and glory. I pray that they will serve God in their daily choices and in their long-range plans, no matter what profession they may choose. I want my sons to know the Living God and to store up His Word in their hearts so that their tongues will always speak His truth and His grace in love.
My sweet Ethan turned 16 today and instead of seeing the joy in him reaching this milestone, passing his driving test, getting his license and driving to school by himself for the first time today…….all I saw was one less thing he needed me for. I spent the majority of my morning feeling sorry for myself and being so sad that I felt stupid and selfish. Until a sweet friend, Amy, helped me to see that him needing me less was proof of the good job done in raising him and to choose joy. She encouraged me to pray for him, that his path may be HIS and to pray for Ethan’s future wife. I’m committed to praying for my son, to be a wonderful man of God, to help, encourage and inspire others, to be a blessing to others including his future wife and children and to follow God’s will. 🙂
M-10, A-8As a single mom of three and mom to a sweet boy with Autism, each day brings new challenges. God is the only answer, only He can reach the hearts of my children. So often I forget and think I am alone in this.
My son is named Bennett and he’s 9 years old. He has recently been diagnosed with NLD. We have struggled for years with his behavior and while it’s good to finally have some reasons for it, it doesn’t make things any easier. I’m still learning how to handle him, how to help him, how to teach him, and how to best love him.
I’m in! My whys are Julian, 12, and Rhys, 5. Julian has been diagnosed with ADHD, and really struggles in school. It hurts my heart, because he’s a smart kid, he’s just not interested in traditional academics and he’s not necessarily intelligent in the ways best measured and appreciated by traditional academics. He tends to internalize negative feedback and beat himself up over it, so we fight to help him make it through school and fight to keep his view of himself from just plummeting. Rhys is all boy all the time, and he tends to punch first, ask questions later. He has quite the temper, and if he lets it control him, things will not go well. Praying for them, for help in the areas they need, for growth in the faith for Julian, for Rhys’s salvation, and oh, for patience and grace for us all!
I am the mom of 3 girls (7, 2, 2 months) and 1 boy (5). My husband is in the Coast Guard and is gone quite a bit. I’m trying to do the typical “boy” things with my son that his dad normally would but doesn’t get a chance to; although I’m probably no good at it haha. I pray that he can develop those interests and abilities even with my limited help. I’m praying that he will grow up respecting women and himself. I pray that he knows both my husband and I love him and would do anything for him. I pray he follows what the Bible teaches throughout his life. I pray that he can handle anything that comes his way from bullies to bad days with strength and class, that he won’t let them get the better of him. I look forward to this challenge and hope to strengthen my bond with my son through this.
For my son Matthew who is 12yrs. He is the only sibling at home now and is home schooled. His sisters are 26 and 20, so he’s like an only child at home and it’s hard for him at times. Also his younger sister renounced her faith in God two years ago and this has weighed heavily on us all, and he worries about her salvation. I pray that God gives him peace about this and I pray for him to continue to become stronger in his walk with God.
I am a single pregnant mom of a little boy. I’m 20 weeks along. I want to join this challenge because I want him to have a relationship with God always. I want to start praying the promises of God on his life.
I want to be more intentional and focused when praying for my two boys, bb (5) and lb (2)! <3
My 14 yr old son Jake is my reason, and I am praying to receive some guidance for him and myself to find his way in this crazy and negative world while trying to stay true to himself and his beliefs.
I’m a mom of 2 boys- 9 and 8 and one girl. I dream of teen years that aren’t filled with anger and frustration and boys that grow into men after God’s heart. Also, it’s no coincidence that at the same time I’ve been feeling to pray more this opportunity came up on Facebook. =) Thanks!
My husband and I pray daily that our 3 boys, ages 6, 4 and 2 would be mighty warriors in God’s kingdom. We pray over them nightly that they would have the faith of Abraham, the strength of Samson, the love of David and the wisdom of Solomon. Eager and excited for this 30 day challenge.
My 3 year old son, who is super strong-willed, is why I’m doing this. I want to cover him in prayer as much as I can!
I have 2 boys ages 3 and 4 months. For the last 5 years I have supported my husband battle leukemia. He is 3 years post stem cell transplant and a stay at home Dad. He is amazung but I fear he inherited his own father’s genes. My father in law just passed away a month ago after years of battling many health conditions at the age of 65. My prayers are for my boys health. I want them to live long fulfilling lives with many grandbabies. I have wanted to learn how to by more intentional in my prayers. I am looking forward to this challenge.
My 8 year old son is my reason. He has impulse control and anger issues. He is really struggling in school and I don’t know if I should pull him out and homeschool. I’m worried it might ruin our relationship.
I am a full-time stay at home, homeschooling Mom to our 4yo boy. We continue to pray for patience and guidance as we endure the beautiful journey of parenting (and homeschooling).
I have an awesomely autistic 15 yo young man and a terrific threenager! Both are joys, but the threenager is truly my h2h boy. I am committing to this 21 days of prayer b/c my faith is always there, but my prayer life is lackluster. I want to be passionately praying for my sons and I want to know deeper their hearts by seeking the heart of God!
Ethan is 13 and Abe is 11…both are such gifts to my life. I specifically feel led to pray for integrity in Ethan and emotional growth in Abe.
3 yr old Emerson. I’d much rather him grow up in a home like his father’s than like mine. Metabolizing the poison from my family and keeping it from his life is paramount.
I’m struggling to be the mum I want to be right now. 3 kids. 2 boys. Being committed in prayer is the only way change is going to happen, in me & in them. Thank you for this 🙂
I’m a mom of one 19 year old…I thought things would get easier the older he got, boy was I ever wrong! He’s a great kid and I praise the Lord for him! I just want the best for him!
Jennie mom of 2 year old Josiah. Praying God molds me and my husband as we seek to raise Josiah to love Jesus. Praying our family of four turn in closer to each other.
I have three boys: Micah (3.5), Judah (2), and Ezra (2 months). I pray not only that they will love the Lord with their whole hearts, but also that they will grow to be men who love God’s Word and desire to live it out in their lives.
I’m desperately in need of refreshed encounter of Jesus in my mothering of 3 boys – Enrique 10, Louis Miguel 8, Ethan Timothy 2. The chaos which was once beautiful is becoming a irritating noise & burden to my heart. Got saved 3 years ago, left work 2 yrs ago in faith to focus on nurturing & encouraging hearts of my husband & boys as house wife & homeschool mom. The once joyful task has become burden & toil. I’ve dropped Jesus somewhere along the way & started to believe lies of the enemy. =( have not stopped reading His Word everyday yet still feel dry & lost.
For my Zachary (14) to guard his heart and soul and guide him to make choices grounded in faith.
My why is my only son mason who is almost 3. I am exhausted and lost my faith years ago. I am hoping to find it again for myself and for my son. He is extremely smart, head strong, and has no patience. I love him so much and want the best for him. And with that I need to be my best.
My ds, Ritchie, just turned 6 and just started Kindergarten.
I am a single mom to a wildly creative and energetic 9y/o and an active, yet stubborn 19month old I want them to be the men God entends for them to be. I want them to be unafraid to be their very best and confident that i equipped them with the fundamental and moral tools to be great young men.
Tyler,12, Aiden, 7. I need to be guided in only the way God can. I am so caught up in daily life, I fall short. They need me to do better, to be better, to guide them better.
Praying for Jacob-16 and Ian-12.
18, 16, 14 and 7 yo boys. Praying among many other things, that they will actively work on pursuing Jesus. I found parenting to be really tough and feel as though I’m failing in my calling as a mom.
I am participating in this challenge for my two sons who are 5 and 3! I am a military spouse and have been parenting these two sweet boys by myself. I feel as if I have really neglected praying for them in my quiet and prayer time. Some days are so incredibly overwhelming while working full-time and caring for 3 kids. My hope is that God would just open my heart and mind to what their needs really are and to help me really focus in on praying for His children.
I want to be a diligent prayer warrior for my 2 boys, Andrew (14) & Alex (12). I should’ve been this warrior many years ago..sometimes I ask myself, ” have I done enough?” I know God has a plan fortheir lives, but I want to make sure His plan is also my plan. I want to show them, through me, how amazing God’s love is for them and how great it can be for a lifetime. During the busyness of the day, I often think about them, but I want the habit of praying for them as well. This may be a difficult challenge for me, but they are worth it!!
I fail to get my boys’ hearts routinely, but long to do so before they are far from us or the Lord. I know this is only something God can do for them amd for us. Adon – 6, Gabe – 5, Corban – 4, Elias – 2.
I have a 13 year old son. This is the age where peer pressure begins to take control. He is a very good sweet young man and I pray that God will guide him and that he will be able to follow God’s direction even when friends aren’t doing the right thing. I pray that he will be kind and respectful to others. I pray that he will have good discretion when making friends and I pray that I can be a patient, grace filled mom and he sees my love for him and God.
I am in! Am doing H2H video series and really don’t want it to stop, so I guess this is the next progression. I have 2 H2H boys one is 8 and emotional to the extreme and one who is 10 and starting to show signs of stress emotional overreaction. They need constant prayer. Love that you guys are keeping us connected and moving for our boys.
Two boys, Sam (8) and Daniel (6). There are a lot of whys, not so different than other praying parents. Praying for them to grow into mighty warriors of the faith is my hearts desire. But also praying for mild health concerns, focus for schoolwork (homeschoolers and tend to be more than a little distracted), attitudes and melt downs (the younger one).
My two why’s are Sonny (4) and Shiloh (1). My oldest is amazingly loving, imaginative, and energetic but deals with anger and tantrums that I think I have either created or perpetuated. We start OT next month for ADHD and possibly SPD. He is amazing but I am entirely insufficient as I am. I need change in me, for him. Shiloh is 1 and is hilarious and adorable like all 1 year olds. He can have a little temper but is generally an easy going kid. My husband and I feel like we are drowning in the overwhelming sea that is parenting. We want to reclaim a peaceful home in the name of Jesus. My prayer is for peace over my boys and my home. I want wisdom so I can rightly handle the curveballs they throw me and in that lead by example. My ultimate goal is for them to grow into men who love God and love people.
My sweet but very alpha male little boy can sometimes be a handfull. He definitely keeps me on my toes. I will be praying for guidance, the right way to discipline, grace, for him to have a kind heart, and for peace when we can get it!
I’m joining cause I have three boys 3.5, 2.5 & 15 months. Ages alone can prove challenging as well as all being strong willed boys.
I have twin 7 year old boys who are very active, sometimes rebellious, caring and loving, lift me up and drive me crazy at the same time, I know God has great plans for them both, ready to fight for them on my knees!
My 19 year old son Alfonso. I’m praying for God’s protection over him.
18 yo Kyle. High school senior, overwhelming decisions for the future.
Our boys are 9 and 11. The older, E, is anxious and brilliant, a lover and follower of rules who is very uncomfortable when others don’t also follow the rules. Rules keep him safe. Rules give him comfort. They also cause him anxiety and guilt. My prayer for him has always been a keen understanding of the Grace God offers him, and the flexibility that can exist even within the rules when one understands the spirit and not just the letter of them.
The younger, W, is a squishy, lovey snuggle-bug built like a tank and wrapped in ornery sarcastic stubbornness. I tell him he was given that stubborn streak so he could stand firm for God, and he’s not to use it for himself, especially against his mother. My prayer for him has been that he will get his self-worth from Christ, and learn to submit to authority as an act of service to God.
Thanks for doing this challenge again, Ladies! I’m looking forward to some great focused prayer and can’t wait to see how God works amongst us in October and beyond.
I have a 3 yr old, strong-willed, sweet, sensitive little boy. I hope to be the Godly mother that he needs to become a Godly young man.
I feel like I have an alien living in my house the last couple of years! I need to connect with my son again, and pray for him and this looks like an amazing opportunity for just that purpose! What perfect timing that God brought me to this website! My son, Ryan, is 14 years old and a freshman in high school.
I will be praying for M (2.5 yr) and for B (10 months). They are a handful but I know God has something great in store for them.
My why… is because he is running every where else but to God. He was raised in church but at age 14 started getting into trouble. Little things at first then marijuana, pills, and alcohol. On his 18 birthday he flipped his truck in the middle of the highway and walked away with a scratch on his face and a night in jail. He then got caught with Marijuana in his truck twice and ended up in jail for two weeks and a rehab for 2 months. Once he got out he was still trapped by the drugs but I kept praying. He seemed to be getting better and married his high school sweetheart. He never graduated and started working out of town. 6 months later he and his wife divorced and now he’s unhappy, not working, and out all night. I’m scared to death his back into drugs. His name is Slade. He’s 20 years old now and I’m terrified I’m going to wake up to a phone call that’s he’s in jail or dead. I have been praying for 6 years and I feel like giving up. My hope for him is that he finds his peace and happiness in God. I try to talk to him but he pushes me away. I don’t want God to give up on him.
Oh Bea! So sorry for the pain you are walking thru. Gal 6:9 is a verse I’ve turned to over and over! Galatians 6:9 (NIV) “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”Praying for you to persevere with Joy! Joy of The Lord is your strength. For Slade, healing of his broken heart and the wounds that he’s tries to self medicate with drugs, etc. that he may turn to his healer, The Lord Jesus Christ, that God will bring unconditional loving men around him. That he will be delivered fr all bondage and that he will be a light to those around him!
My son Cody is 13… praying for guidance in making the right decisions on how to teach my son to be a young man and how to be responsible.
My 18 year old who’s on his way to being a Prodigal. Hoping God will redirect.
Jadon, my 6 year old. I pray his love for the Lord grows into a fire that can never be extinguished.
I have a soon to be 4 – year old son. My prayer is that he uses his strong will in a godly way and follows Him all the days of life. Josiah.
I have 3 boys. My 7yr old who struggles with attention and social issues. My 2 yr who is increasingly jealous of his siblings and takes it out on them physically. My new little man who is only 2 months and I feel bad that he is missing out on mommy attention because of his siblings.
My 2 boys…B is 12, JJ is 10…their momma needs patience…these precious, sweet, active, strong-willed, amazing boys need to know that they were born with a purpose! A God-designed, God-enabled dream inside each of them…unique to them! I want to be reminded to be patient with them, to help them discover and then cultivate their individual callings…
My son, Matt, lives far away. He is 29 years old and just heading into the most successful arc of his career. He wavers between God and the world. I love him more than life…..
Yep, gotta join in. Just found out my 3 year old is a bully at church. Ugh. Need to offer this in prayer.
My why 11yo B. My prayer is that he will guard his heart for his future wife and will serve The Lord in whatever Gods chosen vocation.
Mine are 13, 6, and 3. We deal with a mood disorder in one, anxiety in two, ADHD in two, and sensory issues in three. They are my loves.
I have two boys – 10 & 7. Just want to be the mom God designed me to be…so that they can be raised and be the men God wants them to be. Thank you for this!
I commit to this challenge! My son Bryson, 12 years old, holds a lot of anger and considers himself negatively as he continuously compares himself to his older brother who does everything “perfect”. He lacks motivation, confidence, and belief in himself. Otherwise he is a great kid! Just want so much to see who he truly is as God sees him.
Nick age 11…..pray that he will continue to be a good leader and make good decisions going into his preteen years.
My 9 year Autistic son that he grows up to be independent, have a family, and be a Christian man if integrity.
My oldest just turned 3 and I had my second 1 month ago. ‘Nuff said.
Single & solo parent to two boys, 10 and 4. Some days it’s a real battle (swords and all).
Because I am ill equipped and need to call upon the Lord’s favor in leading my boys 10, 6. I am “spiritually single.” I have a believing husband but he is not the spiritual leader of our home.
My son, Paxton, is 16 and a Jr in High school. He is our only child. I want to do this challenge because he is pulling away from me and I dont know what else to do. He is a good kid. Talks to his dad. Plays on the Youth Worship team. Involved in sports. But the relationship between him and I is tense.
I have 2 boys…one is a 21 year old United States Marine and the other one is a 13 year old jr. high student. I am joining this prayer group to pray for safety and continued growth as Christian young men for both my boys. My oldest has a dangerous job in today’s world and my youngest is entering the teen years which can be very impressionable. My wish is for both of them to be responsible Christian men who bring glory and honor to God.
As a Mom of 3 boys (17 yo twins and 11 y) I am struggling with behavior issues with the 11 yo. He has ADHD and we control it by discipline and diet, I don’t want him on medication. His school can’t handle him (to be teachers, principals and guidance counslers with doctorates you would think they could handle children with difficulty) but being in a small town this isn’t the case. I am at my breaking point. I hope I can find peace with this 21 day prayer. We do attend church regularly and I pray for my children but I hope this will be a new way to look at things…
Currently my husband and I are going through a divorce. My sweet boy is 6 years old. He is wide eyes and filled with wonder. He doesn’t know a stranger and loves to talk talk talk! He was diagnosed with ADHD last year and struggles in school. I’m hoping to hope school as soon as I’m able to get back on my feet and find a home for the two of us. He’s been struggling with the separation with his father and I. Praying his sweet spirit isn’t crushed by this situation. He’s already lost so much. We adopted our son at birth. Amazing story of God’s great love for him. Devastated he has to walk this road of having divorced parents. Never thought this day would come. Praying for peace and hope for my little love.
My whys are my loves. 13yo Duncan and 8yo Rylee.
I have 3 boys – a 17 year old, Joshua. I pray for him as he prepares for the journey that he’s been preparing for! College! A 12 year old, Tate, who is becoming a teenager and worries about his short stature. Finally, my 17 year old stepson, Trent; I pray that he is able to develop healthy relationships with women after the destruction his mother has caused him.
To that picture: You really should rethink your phrasing. “The best way a mom can enter the battle for the heart of her son is on her knees…” Honestly, praying isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when reading that.
I want to enjoy these precious years with my two boys, 11 and 7, and all I find myself doing is disciplining, harping and reacting. I’m so thankful for the videos you have posted as a reminder to love tangibly. I want us to laugh and love more, and just….relax.
My two reasons are 5 and 2. Praying their hearts are soft towards Jesus at a young age!
I am a mom to 5 boys ages 10, 8, 6, 2 & 6 months…plus we home school…need I say more?!?! Lol
I have a 7 year old extremely strong willed and loving little man. Praying for lots for both and mainly that we can make it through this deployment, first remembered for him, and grow stronger in God and not screw him up!
Praying for 3-yr Caleb and 9-mo John David. Overwhelmed by the responsibility of raising them in the Lord!
7 year old son with Epilepsy. Excited for this.
I have two sons. Colton, 14 yrs old, who I will be praying for and Colby, 3 yrs old, also.
Daily struggles with raising 4 kiddos, 2 of which are boys is what brought me here.
I have 3 boys:11, 9, and 8 years old. Ready to learn how to pray for them.
Joining and praying for my three boys. Ages 13, 9 and 3. All three are a joy and a challenge in their own way. Praying to love them more like Jesus.
I want to be the best mom I can be to Jensen age 4 and Jack 8 weeks. I want to raise them in God’s will with patience, wisdom and lots of love. I hope to raise 2 godly boys who walk with Him.
My 12 year old, Justin, keeps me on my knees daily. I want to commit to praying for God to reveal his will for my son’s life and how I play a roll in that will. <3
Two boys….one is 14 and the other is 13. Looking forward to this challenge.
For my 1.5 yr old..his blessing
My 9yo Daniel….the light of my life and an old soul. May he not feel as much pressure in daily life as he does and may he continue to be our little pastor, attached to God beautifully since the day he was born and living as Christ wants him to….he is very special.
I am committed to this challenge for my son, Logan age 6. My hope is that I can do everything possible through his difficult time without his dad.
I have one almost-17-yr old son, Clay – a senior in high school – he just moved to FL to be with his dad after living w/ me his whole life (for 8 yrs. just the two of us – now I’m married Clay has several step-siblings as well) His dad is not a Christian and I doubt very much that Clay will go to church at all now – it’s not something his dad would encourage – so I’m praying he makes wise choices, makes some good Christian friends, and maybe finds a church w/in walking distance since he doesn’t have a car. I’m truly happy he and his dad are working on their relationship – but I sure do miss my boy!!
I’m praying for my 3 year old Henry, and my (very future) son-in-law, whomever he may be. I pray that they’ll grow to be men of God and obedient to God’s will in all things.
My boys are 9 and 5, with my youngest being the hardest to handle. He is strong willed, a hard worker (already at 5), has a quick temper, but is also such a sweetheart. Thank you so much for this call to prayer!
So excited to do this challenge (I have done it before!). This time, I am getting a group of fellow MOBs to join me! woot!
so excited to do this challenge for the second time! this time I am asking friends to join me:)
My 3 beautiful babies ages 6, 2.5, and 3mo. May they grow in truth and in grace.
Micah is my 18 month old. I pray that he grows in a strong man of God. I want him to be surrounded by people that will help him grow and love him.
I just had my baby boy he was 3 months early and is still in the hospital he’s almost 2 months old now and just now moved him in a crib his name is Garrett Joseph and my biggest prayer is that the Lord blesses us to bring him home soon he’s a miracle in the flesh and I’m proud to be his mama (:
My why is my son, Trae. He is my everything. He will be nine Oct. 21st and I think this is the best possible birthday gift. My husband and I waited almost 9 years for him and didn’t think we would ever have this amazing blessing. I just want to give him the world but I know that this is not my doing by our Lord’s. Very excited to be joining this group as we celebrate our wonder boys!!
So thankful for the prayer coverings I have had in my life. My son is Aiden age 13. Praying for wisdom in raising him to become all God would have him and guidance in managing his perfectionist personality that can become critical at times.
I’m praying over my 4 year old and 9.5 month old. I want their lives from beginning to end to be covered by the prayers of their mama. I’ll be praying for protection, blessing, health and that they choose Jesus.
I have a 7, 9, & 11 year old boys that push my buttons often. Lol. I want to inspire them and lead them to Christ.
I’m praying for my 3 boys ages 4, 2.5, and 6 months. We are in a season of business for my husband and I see their little heRs missing him and behaviors acting out because of it. I’m struggling with my relationship with The Lord and having a hard time finding joy. I want to react differently then I have been.
Logan 12 years old. I pray that Logan learns to have a love for school and the desire to give his best effort at all times (even in subjects he doesn’t enjoy). I pray he learns patience and persistence this year as well.
2 boys- 5 and 7. We homeschool. I feel like I am losing them already. I need this as much as they do.
I have 3 boys, ages 15, 13, and 9. I pray for all of them, but right now my oldest is my biggest concern. He’s questioning his beliefs and has told us he doesn’t think he believes in God.
I am joining the challenge. I have a 5 1/2 year old boy who is full of energy and is fearless. He’s also impulsive, has little response inhibition, and has strong emotions. I am praying the Holy Spirit would invade his heart and give him self-control. I am praying he would grow in kindness towards others and have a servant heart. I am praying he would have ears to hear things that are right and believe truth. I am also praying for his relationship with his dad and that peace would bind our home. Looking forward to seeing what God will reveal!
A nasty divorce has left my 16 yo son believing lies. He hasn’t spent any time with me in over eight months. Pray for his eyes to be opened to the truths and his heart to heal.
So sorry, I know that cuts deep, experienced that in the past & currently going thru some of that myself. God is for you! Keep loving Him right where he is.(even if that means fr afar) God will bring us & our boys thru to the other side of all this pain & emotional upheaval. Look ahead! I am praying for you Lisa, that you may overflow with the Joy of The Lord even while in this valley, Joy of The Lord is your strength. Take a listen to ‘broken hallelujah’ by The Afters.
From prodigal to ODD to intellectually disabled, my 5 sons are all over the place in their relationships with the Lord. Praying for God to work in mighty ways in their lives.
Byron 17.5Justin 16
Milam 15
Dylan 14.5
Byron, Justin & Dylan’s dad was killed in plane crash 7 months ago, he & I were divorced. Milam’s mom moved 8hrs away and he won’t see her until Christmas. Lots of pain, grief & rebellion in our home on top of regular teenage pressure boys are going thru. Prayer for their relationship with God to be stronger that they will find healing & strength in Him & not Turn their back on Him, to walk in purity & godly wisdom, that they’ll see thru manipulation & the enemies lies. That JESUS will be their LORD!
My two reasons – Adrian – 8 and Jacob – 4 🙂
Did this a few years ago and loved it!! My son is now 14 and in High School and needs a lot of prayer coverage to stand strong in his Faith and apply it and grow in his relationship with God, as well as develop character etc. Wanting to do it again as this world needs strong Christian men to become leaders for Christ in their homes, society, schools etc. Great program and excited to participate again 🙂
Sooo excited about this and shared with all my mommy friends. We are ready to start and all pray for our boys together!
The most challenging thing I have ever done in life is parent my almost 16 year old son, Mason. The biggest questions I always ask are, “What is the RIGHT thing to do?” and “What is the RIGHT way to handle this?” Most times, rather than not, I come up empty. The challenges he faces being a teenage athlete boy are more than I like to imagine. My prayer is for him to be a respectful and respectable young man, a courageous leader with a gentle spirit and strong faith, a light for others to see, glorifying our almighty Father in heaven.
I have 2 boys. Age 3 and 5 (in dec).My hopes in this is that I can have less anxiety over them and more trust in the Lord to be with them. They really are fantastic boys, but I am a worrying Momma and they sometimes wear me out with their adventures and not listening. God bless them!
6yr.old Cannon and 4 yr old Sutton. My heart.
I’m in! WE have 5 children and one due any day now. In the past though this challenge has been for “BOYS” i find myself praying for our future son-in-laws i may have one day. it becomes a family prayer challenge!!
I have 3 boys under 4 🙂 I’m praying for closeness between the 3 of them as well as soft hearts to The Lord.
I have 3 boys and one on the way. I pray for them daily, and how wonderful to have other MOB to join me along the way!
My 2 month old baby boy Brooks is my why. Can only pray he grows up to be a man of God.
I am joining this challenge because I have a 9 year old H2H boy who I don’t want to lose a relationship with! It’s already on very shaky ground. I really want to know how to pray for him and with him and to build a relationship with him that will carry us through these next stages.
I want my BOYS (3 1/2 year old, 2 1/2 year old, and 10 month old) to grow to be Godly MEN! Leaders, heads of house, husbands, daddys, warriors for Christ.
I’m a mama to 3 boys (4yo, 22mo and 2mo) with a hubby that’s been deployed for the last 7 months and I’m a ‘baby Christian’ having only given my life to Christ 3 years ago. I come from a family of atheists and non-practicing ‘believers’ so I’m still learning how to incorporate prayer into my everyday life. One of my Sisters in Christ invited me to this study and I’m trilled to learn and be held accountable by this community.
[…] other challenge is through the MOB Society and it is 21 Days of Praying for Boys. I am committing myself to both challenges and some of it can be hard, with the Journey Back […]
I have 4 boys under age 9 who challenge me daily–in so many ways. Desiring to be a faithful mama to them, and lead them (with my husband) to seek after the Lord with all their heart, mind, soul and strength. Thank you for this amazing resource that has blessed me so much!
I am praying for my 2 yr old son. I am praying that God gives me wisdom in instructing Him in every way. He’s a tender heart and I want him to grow up knowing it’s ok to love others and be strong at the same time.
For my 5 yr old and 2 yr old (who thinks he is 5). Praying that they stop push I’ll by the limitslistening and calm and patience for me.
Jonathan is 4 and Frank is 3. I pray that they will love The Lord and follow Him all the days of their lives.
Praying for 2 boys: 16 and 9 yrs old. Praying for softened hearts, direction, focus, and self-control. As for me consistency ~
I have an 8 year old and 22 year old both love the Lord, im a single and only parent, just need guidance and direction want them to soar in all they do. Want them not to ever lose focus on Jesus. My 22 year old needs that heart for God to be rekindled. Want them not to fear but have faith and total trust in God. I want to be able to portray that for them both.
I am joining this month of prayer to commit to pray for my sons Micah (12) and Jonas (10) because I know it will not only bear fruit in their lives, but in mine also. I have never really delved deep into the power of prayer and am excited to do so. I hope that my sons grow up to realize the extent of our love for them, but more importantly God’s love for them. They were plucked out of eternity to fulfill God’s plan/purpose for their lives and I cannot wait to see what God has in store for them as they continue to grow in Him.
Why I’m doing this- I feel overwhelmed at times with raising soldiers for God and am asking Him for parenting skills and wisdom. I believe this is the best thing I can do for my boys. Eric (3) & Evan (2) – my hopes for them- to grow up with a love for God, a hunger for His Word, and the strength to do His will.
Looking forward to coming alongside all of you in prayer <3
I have a 2-year old firecracker. I want him to love & seek The Lord all of his days.
Levi & Tanner. 5 & 4. Enterring the world of school and more time away from our home. Need prayer now more than ever.
My 2 boys, ages 7 and 10, have stolen my heart and my mind sometimes! I want to cover them with prayer from this day forward.
I am doing this challenge for my 3 year old,M. He is strong willed and I need to learn how to let go of my expectations of how he should be and love him for who he is.

My Why – 15 yr old son Cole. That he could see his value in God’s eyes and not be so tempted to conform to this world!! And for him to also remember that each Earthly decision has Eternal consequences!I will also be praying for my 11 nephews, some needing extra prayed for God to help them see the Light and their need of him and his salvation.
Thanks for this challenge – can’t wait to get started and see how God will work!
I have a 9 year old boy that is a smart, wonderful person but he’s having some big behavioral issues. Praying for God to give us patience and guidance during this time.
My little Bubs is almost 2 (his birthday is November 11). He’s my sweetest, momma lovin’, handsome boy who I love to pieces. I want him to know God’s love at an early age. I want him to know his worth. I want him to be a gentleman among men. I want him to be a compassionate leader. But most importantly, I want him to be exactly who God made him to be
My why is b/c my boys need Christ in this society! I have 2 boys 15.5 and 6 and I pray for their hearts, for godly people to cross their paths and for godly wisdom as I and my husband parent them!
My only son is the oldest, with 2 younger sisters… I’m doing this because the world is a crazy place and I want to protect him but also have him been an example of a godly man for my girls.
I have 3 amazing boys. They are 2, 6, and 8. Last month, I was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer and will undergo a double mastectomy on October 13. My heart is so confident that God is moving and I will be healed of this disease, but it has made me really take a good long hard look at my life and my parenting. I know that I need this challenge at this specific time. This season of surgery and recovery will be difficult, but I believe that covering my boys in prayer will lessen the impact on them.
Two little boys (nearly 4 and nearly 6) who’s hearts I desperately want to guide and nurture so they grow into strong men of God.
My 8 year old son with ADHD is why I’m doing this.
2 boys who I want to have a heart for God.
I have a 4 year old boy named Nehemiah that I have joint custody of. This year has been hard for me realizing I can only control how he is parented in my home. He also has a DX of ADHD, SPD, and ODD, which brings anxiety for him. I am praying that I can be a Christian example for him and that he will get the same foundation I got growing up, and that he will begin to feel the peace of Christ in his life.
I have 3 boys 10 and 6 yr old twins. I want them to be become strong independent and caring young men. This world has so much negativity and I them to rise above it.
My 20 year old is struggling to find his way, and my 16 year old is locked in a spiritual battle because he’s been called to become a youth pastor and has started taking steps towards that path.
My oldest son, Logan grew his wings at 25 yrs old in a motorcycle accident 3 yrs ago August 13, 2011. He left 3 children behind that my youngest daughter and husband are raising. I also have a 7 yr old son, Malachi whom I adopted at 1 1/2 yrs old,but he came home to me at 6 days old from the hospital. He was born drug addicted and has autism. I am thankful that my oldest son knew Our Heavenly Father and I know he is with him waiting for us to be together again. I prayer for my youngest to have peace and guidance in his life. I would love to join this group to prayer over our boys…..where one joins together with others in prayer……….
[…] are literally thousands of you signed up for the 21 Days of Prayer for Sons challenge starting October […]
I’m joining for three year old who went poop in the potty yet, but is memorizing scripture right and left. I’m joining for my 18 month old who has temper.
I’m joining because God blessed us with twin five year old boys who I hope if we parent correctly will be the boys with the energy and focus to lead others to Christ and not bogged down by the world
I have 2 boys with an amazing father and granfathers. Praying that they have a heart for God and their family like their father and grandfathers..
I have 5 Boys. 17, 16, 9, 5 and a 3 yr old. I am doing this for all of them but I will be focusing more on my 16yr old that has been getting skipping school lately. My 9 yr old has to learn self control when angry. My 5 yr and 3yr need their big brothers to be good role modelsb so they can look up to them..I’m just hoping that no matter what life throws at them they keep going in the path the God wants them to go. That they make good choices in life.
Single mom two boys 18 and 8 different challenges.
I’m in. I have an 8 year old son named Christian and I just want to pray for him so God can work in him, through him, and give him everything I can’t.
My six year old – finding balance between letting him be a warrior, explore & conquer, yet still be safe around the “littles” in the house. My 17 month old – teaching respect for authority Now.
Yes! 6 in 11 days and 2 yesterday 🙂 my oldest is my life’s biggest challenge, incredibly smart, strong, stubborn, disobedient, curious, creative, sensitive, aware, a crazy combination and I often feel lost, overwhelmed and question why the Lord made me a mom. I confess I have not prayed enough over him. And I want to do that better for my 2 year old.
I have 5yo and 2yo sons. My desire is that they would have hearts fully devoted to God.
My 6yo Wyatt is so tender-hearted & kind. He loves passionately & is sensitive to other’s feelings. He is also very passionate about cars & sports. But, in school, he’s struggling to learn “like normal kids.” I’m praying for confidence and courage for us both!
Praying for out 16 y.o. son. Trying so hard to be a man but making bad choices, seeking approval from the wrong people. Praying for our 15 y.o. twins to acknowledge and be supportive of others. I will not give up on them.
I’m joining this challenge because I am desperate to have boys that are wrapped in the full grace of God. The enemy is desperately seeking to devour them and I am standing in the gap on behalf of Lewis Jr 24, James 22, Lamarr 2, Lathan 5 mos. My hope is to see them live their lives in a way that is pleasing in Gods sight
I have a gifted 9 yr old named Zechariah and an autistic 7 yr old named Jacob. I want God to grab my boys now so that they can get to know him more and to be able to see how he is using them now. I want to establish a routine so that my praying will help to keep Satan from taking them away from God as they continue to grow in him.
Alex 22, Mason 13, Lucas12. God help us all. Alcoholism, drugs, hormones, self worth, ability to become independent, court charges, decision making, studying skills, weightless, healthy body, healthy mind, motivation. Mothering skills. These are just a few items of concern. Let the open soul begin. Pray on..
I will be praying for my almost 11-year-old and my almost 14-year-old.
I truly believe God can intervene at any age. Praying for my son who is also a prodigal son.
I have a 7 year old who just doesn’t seem interested in God unless he is afraid or sick. He also has some temper issues. I also have a 3 year old who loves to pray and be kind and all of that but I am going to pray for him too that God would just keep Him close. I want my boys to impact the world for Christ, no matter the cost. It is the only thing worth fighting for in this life.
Two sons. One just moved into the dorm as a sophomore transfer student. One is a high school senior. Both seeking direction and not as close to God as they used to be.
Mother of two boys! 15 and 10. Praying for 15yr Old with School Challenges and add. My 10 yr old has add and anxiety. I pray he isn’t so hard on himself. I am praying my boys stay true to the Lord and themselves.
Praying for my almost 13 yr. old son. He is exasperating and I love him with all my heart!
I have a 16yr old who is full of anger and hate and a 6 yr old that loves his older brother and copies everything. My husband and I are beyond our stretching point and there seems to be no one to help us,,,,,really struggling right now.
Praying for my 8yr old Danny because I love him so much x
Jacob 3 and Jeremiah 20 months…..my whys <3
I have 6 wonderful sons who are constantly being attacked by the dark spiritual world for their hearts and souls. I feel its because of their tender soft intelligent and amazing spiritual ability for great faithfulness. Please help me Pray for Austin Spencer, Jordan Taylor, Christian Jacob, Michael Aaron, Andrew Sterling and Alexander Gabriel. The Holler Boys. They need SO much help. They have been through MUCH suffering in life….more than most….and also alienated from their loving, righteous mother and God for many years now. THANK YOU all. ♥
So Far the Prayers are working!! My son told us that he had a ‘dream’ where God showed him how ‘disrespecting’ his parents would keep him out of Heaven and how after this dream he REALLY wants to work on being respectful to his parents. THANK YOU GOD and all of your prayers!! Lisa (keep them up for the rest of my lonely alienated boys please…thanks)
Praying my 12-year-old with autism not only survives this year, but begins to thrive.
I have 3 boys 7, 10 and 12. Each boy is facing a different struggle right now that without God and the power of prayer would leave me feeling helpless. I am committing to this challenge to trust God with my boys during this season in their lives and that He will work this out for the good of His Kingdom.
My 13 year old ADHD son…some days I think he may not make it to 14 – or maybe I won’t! I struggle to pray for him and his sister consistently…21 days makes a habit – right!
Excited to join this challenge. I’m a mom to 3 boys and the know that in my own strength I can’t turn the hearts of my children to God.
My two whys are Parker 9 and Keaton 6. They couldn’t be more opposite. Parker is very reserved and worries what everyone thinks about him. He doesn’t like to stand out, and when peer pressures start and the majority follows worldly values vs. Godly values – I pray he’ll have the courage to stand up for what he knows is right. Keaton’s heart is wide open, and I worry most that he’ll get hurt. I pray for just the right openness, courage and protection for both of them!
I am joining this challenge for my two sons (age 11 and 8). I can’t wait to get started!
Excited to cover my 10 year old son, Caleb in prayer! He’s a sweet boy and I am so very grateful for his tender heart. I’m looking forward to covering each of you in prayers as well as we go forth on this journey with our sons, together.
I have 3 boys who challenge me for different reasons. Jack (15), is not a typical first born, creative, stubborn and does not seem to want to have a relationship with me. Tyler (13), is highly competitive (to a fault), filled with anger and has no filter. These two older brothers suffer from Jekyl & Hyde syndrome and are different, wonderful young men *outside* our home. The youngest is Bennett (10), smart, outgoing, very funny and independent, has a heart for God and asks so many questions about Him. I am married to a believer, who has fallen off the path and it is very challenging for me to teach and share Christ without feeling criticized. Each of these 3 need to develop a loving relationship with their Heavenly Father and I need to be encouraged to continue leading them and be unafraid to pray with and for them.
I am in this for my 11 year old son. He’s going through a lot right now and needs me to be on my knees for him.
I have been struggling with the commitment of 21 days of prayer for my 3 boys, two who are young men now 18 & 20, with the most promblems. Now a 3 month old, thinking God was blessing me with a new opportunity. My delima is I am unable to purchase any litature, but really have a burning desire to do this. I have so much to share & work through, and have a neighbor with boys as well. Any suggestions?

I will be praying for my step-son Cody age 26-in the military, newly married and kind of a prodical- knows the Lord but not walking with him currently. Also my son Dalton at 14 and a freshman in high school I am praying for him to find his identity in Christ and truly live out his faith. His is a great kid and I pray he stays that way…he is starting with that teenage attitude and he is just not my baby anymore and I am struggling with the letting go and letting God and not being such hovering, nagging mom.
Praying for my sons who are 25, 18 & 13. They have such varied needs right now it can really be emotionally draining for me. I need to turn to God in prayer not only for them, but for myself in how I relate to them and feel about the decisions they are making in their lives.
praying for my sweet 4 year old because i never feel like i do that enough. i would love some direction in how and what to pray for him.

Fighting for my two boys Deacon, 7 and Canaan, 3. And for my girls too (Adelle, 8 and Ainsly, 5)!! Look forward to a month of prayer focused on my kiddos. Thanks for doing this!!
I’m in! We have a 6 year old, Nathan and we have a 5 year old foster son, Scottie… He’s our challenge. I pray they will both grow up to be men of God.
I have 2 boys age 14 and 16. Needless to say that we have prayer needs and need to reach the throne of God on their behalf. The dark world that we live in makes it hard to keep them from allowing the darkness in. My prayer has always been to raise boys that are full of the Lord living their lives for Him. Our boys are the husband’s and fathers of the future! If lives are to be changed our boys have to be changed or strengthened!
Praying for Godly parenting skills and Godly perspective in raising my sweet 6 yr old and 7 yr old boys. So excited to see what God has in store!
Blessed Mom of one 5 year old energetic son! I am excited to see what God is going to do over this next month!
Carter 4 and Cole 3. Joining this challenge because I want my little warriors to love Jesus and live for him.
J-22, W-21, H-14, M-11 Isaiah 49:15-16 Can a woman forget her nursing child and have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, but I will not forget you. Behold, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands. Praying my boys will know how much God loves them and walk closely with Him. I would love to connect with other full time Rving moms who are homeschooling (or “roadschooling”) cindyaturner1@gmail.com
Praying for my 12 year old son, John. I want to cover him in prayer always but especially during this next month!
I have many males in extended family that I’m unsure of their salvation because they don’t talk about faith & religion. I have an only child 3yr strong willed boy. We are older parents with no family close & no elders to speak into his life, especially spiritually. I want a loving & respectful relationship with my son & my spouse. This responsibility lies at my feet. If I’m not praying for them & living my faith out loud who else will???
My 3 boys need all the prayers that can possibly be prayed! They are awesome and have so much to offer. I want to help them and intercede for them in a world that is going to try to break them to the core.
I have two young boys, both come with their individual challenges and triumphs. I need to be a praying example to these young men. I want them to see the example of a wife and mother that centers the home around prayers for her husband and children.
I joined for my son, Jaxon (4). I want to pray for guidance on raising him to be a gentleman, to know God, make good decisions, to know when to stand up for what is right and do what is right. As a young single mom about to graduate from college, I sometimes lose my cool and know there are other areas in parenting where I could improve. I love that this challenge has been created, thank you so much MOB society!!!
I’m joining for all 4 of my boys, Colton (8) Beckett (7) Landin (5) & Rowan (3) but the one that has me on my knees the most often right now is my Beckett….he & I are not doing so great right now….the prayers most prayed is for a teachable spirit and that he would know how very loved he is!
My boy is just getting ready to turn 14. He’s an amazing young man, but this is a critical time for boys. I think if boys know that they are being prayed for this fervently, this gives them an insight into just how much they are loved and worried over.
My 4, 3, and 1 year old boys are my reason. I long for them to have a heart for God. I hope for them to be kind, loving, faithful, and courageous in the name of Christ.
I am a homeschooling mom of 3 boys (ages 6, 6, and 8) whom my husband and I fostered, then adopted. On top of being boys, they are children who have unfortunately come from hard places and have varying special needs (ASD, RAD, ODD, PTSD).
i have a 6mo old boy. I just want to pray for him during this sweet time and store up treasures for the future.
I’m taking the challenge..I want to be intentional about praying for my son, who is almost 11. He’s recently been struggling with anxiety…and I the only way I can help him is to pray for him. Looking forward to this!
I have 2 boys. Cooper is 6 and Corbin is 3. Pleading with God for their desire to be obedient to him and for his hedge of protection in their lives. Also praying for their future wives/friends that God gives them wisdom and helps them to make great choices in life.
My two boys, Alex (11) and Ayson (7)…for obedient hearts, gentle, gracious and loving spirits – who will develop in to worthy men of God who seek to glorify him in everything…and simply because I love them to pieces.
I have 4 boys…that’s 4 husbands & 4 fathers…excited about the glory God gets from their lives! allinmom.com
My sweet boy love life. He loves people, he loves helping people. He loves to make people laugh. He acts without thinking and this gives me concern. I have a brother that went to jail and he reminds me so much of him growing up. I plead with God to help me raise him to not follow that path. He is 9 years old and he holds my heart!
I have a 2.5 year old son named Lex. He has the sweetest heart, but he sure is stubborn…and have I mentioned 2.5? I want these next few years not to be the “nightmare” I’ve been told that they’ll be. I want hope 🙂
My Two Why’sJack -17 (struggling with academics, entitled attitude & spiritual walk).
Caleb -13 (prayers for his spiritual walk)
Oh goodness, we have 3 little boys who amaze and terrify us constantly, lol! Isaiah 7, is sensitive, intuitive, creative and headstrong. Micah 4.5, is creative, effervescent, dramatic and ornery. And our baby Titus 2 months old, is angelic, sweet and fiery! We are wanting to raise God loving boys and eventually loving Godly men, who benefit from parents who use Godly parenting to help nurture them, guide them, and coax out all of the gifts that God has bestowed on them.
We have a 7 yo son, 6 yo strong willed son, 2 yo special needs son and 2 week old son.
I’ve lost the desire to parent our older 2. They’re difficult and they have had a rough year. They are acting out. My hearts not in it.
I want to change my heart towards them. That’s why I’m here.
I’m committed. His name is Caidyn. He is 3 years old (4 in Jan.). Why…I’m desperate. Married operating single. My son is hurting. We are hurting.
I’ll be praying for my beautiful baby boy King Arthur (yes real name). He is 6 months old and I want to start to cover him in prayer now while he is still young.
I’m an adoptive mom in waiting and have a strong sense that I will be blessed with a baby boy. His name will be Jahaziel (means someone whom God watches over). I’m praying to raise Jahaziel to love God and serve Him with all of his heart, mind, and soul. Looking forward to participating in this prayer challenge!
Have 2 awesome boys..praying God reveals their callings!
Praying for my boys 3 and 1. It’s never too early to start praying for their souls.
I have 4 boys and I struggle daily with what I want them to grow up to be and how I affect that. Being a parent is hard! But raising boys is an extra difficult thing because you want them to be strong God fearing men.
My first reason is my 6-year old son Justice who is fiercely emotional, competitive, social, goofy, and affectionate. He has a tender heart but often shows resistance to the things of God. I’m praying for him to have an encounter with God’s love that is tangible and real to him. My second reason is my 2 1/2 year old son Eden who has really tested us this year with his strong-willed stubbornness. 🙂 However, he loves praying for people and his eager willingness to do this blesses my heart and I’m praying it will continue as he grows older.
I’m praying for my sweet, sensitive, curious 8 year old son. He’s not my baby anymore and as he gets older and faces the challenges of school, friends and finding his faith I pray that The Lord will draw him to Himself and that he would follow after Him all the days of his life.
My “Why” is an 18 years old college student with a call to ministry.
My just turned 4 year old boy is why I’m doing this. I hope this makes me appreciate him more, understand him more, and trust him to God.
His name is Wesley. He is all of eighteen months old. He is as sweet as he is cute. I am praying because I don’t know what to do with a boy. I don’t think it is so different than what I am doing with my daughter, at least up to this point. I want him to grow up to be a man among men. I want him to be a compassionate Christ follower. I want him to be prepared to enter the world and do what God would have him do. I want to train him in the way he should grow, so that when he is on his own, he will not depart from it. I need patience and grace.
3 strong willed boys: 7, 5 and 3. I so desperately want them to grow up to be strong men who love God wholly.
I am a single mom who works 4-12 hour shifts per week, have three boys…Colton-11, Caleb-5, and Colby-4. Colton struggles with ADD and anxiety at school, it’s a constant struggle trying to get him to get his assignments done on a daily basis plus he’s busy with football. Caleb is very independent but tends to get easily frustrated when things don’t go right, I see he may be slightly a perfectionist. He misses his father very much and I can tell he wants that male figure attention. Colby is my crazy little boy, into everything and extremely defiant at times but can be the sweetest most loving little boy. He’s the type of boy, if you tell him he can’t like pink because it’s a girl color, he will like it even more! My oldest is the hardest because his struggle with ADD is very real and I can’t seem to get through to him how important school is. It’s just a daily struggle to keep balance in our lives when I’m the only present parent between 3 boys.
I’ve been trying to listen to God better – trying to be in tune enough to hear him when he’s speaking to me. We have been struggling lately with our son who will turn 9 on October 11th. He is a sweet, sensitive soul who struggles with handling his emotions and finding his place in the world. I stumbled upon this challenge via ohAmanda, and I really believe it was God talking to me. Telling me to take the time to pray for my boy.
I am in! Got the book – very excited.
My very strong willed 4 1/2 yr old bpy Noah is the reason I am dping this challenge. I pray with and for him but I think this will be wonderful.
I have a 17 year old son who is currently in a court ordered group home for delinquent behavior. He is doing so good now and I pray daily, sometimes multiple times a day. Payer works! He’s a testament to that. I’m standing with you in prayer for our sons.
Sam, 15 and Jack, who turns 13 today!
My sons are adults now. They grew up so happy and laughed at many of their adventures over the years, but right now something has separated their relationship. It breaks my heart that they have let Satan have a foot hold. I will be praying for them, their relationship, and my 3 grandsons they are raising. I want my family back.
My why for this challenge is my 7 month old son Luke. I have been praying for him before he was even born and i will never stop, I am thankful for the opportunity to be a part of this challenge so that my prayers may be lead by a more experienced prayer warrior! My hopes are that my son will grow to be a man of God and know his joy and companionship all the days of his life.
I have a 7 year old son. His dad was abusive during our marriage. What I pray most for him is that I can raise a better man that would take ever mistreat anyone. I just found this 21 day challenge and I love it. Great idea. Boys can push the limits on our patience but a mother’s love is never ending.
Two weeks ago at a women’s retreat, many women of sons were held up in prayer. Shortly after that time, I learned about this group and this challenge. The “why” is that my son is lost. He is not a boy, but a man of age 42. He has two children, one living in a different state with his ex-wife. He was raised in church, but walked away a long time ago. My hope is that he return to the Lord and become the man that God has always intended for him to be, as a father and husband. Today’s scripture is so appropriate b/c at times I feel like his heart is of stone when I try to talk to him about Jesus.
9 yr and 6 wk baby boy. Oldest has adhd and I homeschool. Praying for a heart for Jesus, Christian male role models, and currently self control in his anger frustration level.
I’m beginning my parenting journey with a 4 and 1-year old son, both of whom are headstrong and self-assured, assertive and “alpha”. They are intense in love, play, and fight. My greatest fear is standing in the way of what God has planned for them.
Doing this challenge with three other ladies in my church. Excited to c what God will do
Committed. My son Cullen is 13. Heading down to Teen Court as we speak. I believe that God has great plans for him.
I’m a little late joining this challenge, but hey…better late than never. I’m doing this challenge for all three of my children…2 boys and 1 girl. Specifically, for my oldest son, William. He is 8 years old and over the past couple of years we have had several diagnosis…he has been diagnosed with ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, General Anxiety Disorder with touches of depression. Through prayer and therapy, as well as medication, we have weathered his storms well, however recently his defiance and impulsivity issues have spiked. It has been extremely tough around our house. I want for him to find peace, strength of love through Christ and his blessings. He is an amazingly bright boy with a very sensitive heart at his core…it’s just getting him to connect to that. Our church is starting a 40 day prayer challenge, utilizing The Circle Maker and I have started to read Praying Circles Around Your Children. I know that through surrendering my children to God and praying for them, as well as God to work through me, things will get better around here. Looking forward to the rest of the month. 🙂 So glad I round this challenge via Pinterest… 🙂
I just learned about this group and ordered my book. I’d like to join it because of my son Nathan (2). I would like for Him to fall madly in love with God and not with the world. To grow up to be a man of God and always seek His ways. To use the gifts God has given him to serve Him and live for Him all the days of his life.
My reason is my 13 year old quiet child. who doesn’t open up to anyone and always seems sad.
Just now finding his as I am in the midst of a 19 year old son living at home…and it is so hard.
My son is 13. He has been struggling with a small case of ADD. He gets very emotional talking about anything. I need prayers…. He went through intervention at school and saw a counselor at a child center.. The Physiatrist said he does have a small case of ADD but at the time with intervention at school he was doing better without medication. Just keeping structure he did a lot better… his GPA went to 3.0 but than came back down after we decided not to put him further and towards medication. its a year later now in 7th grade and we are struggling again. I give him Liquid Calcium and Magnesum for his heart and brain. Only God can help me. I cant afford Tutoring. The school has tutoring but he rushes out of there.. Please pray for my son.. Im afraid once he gets into high school he will drop out.
On 7/18/15 I saw a post on Facebook about Praying
