Welcome to our video series, Meet The Team! Each day this month, we want to introduce you to one of our incredible writers from The MOB Society in the hopes that you’ll get to know them better, see the face and voice behind the words on the screen, and give them a chance to share their heart for equipping and encouraging BoyMoms just like you!
Today, we’d like to introduce you to Gina Smith — Gina is one of our Titus 2 writers who provides encouragement and resources from the perspective of a mama who has been there! This mama of two also has plenty of experience with older boys as she and her husband raised their children on a college campus where they served in ministry to the students and young couples. For the past 9 years, Gina has been writing as a way to connect with the young people she was building into and God has blessed that part of her ministry by opening doors for her to write on other platforms like The MOB Society.
Gina says that being the mom of a boy was the best thing that happened to her as it taught her two important lessons: we need to treat our children as individuals and we desperately need God to guide us on this parenting journey. As a BoyMom she learned to depend on God and seek Him when she felt like she didn’t know what she was doing and her hard work has paid off — her son is now a great friend who keeps her laughing! In writing for The MOB Society, she wants other mamas to be encouraged along the journey and she wants to equip them to show grace to their children. In fact, she’s released an eBook on the subject called, Grace Gifts: Celebrating Your Children Everyday — you can find more information at her website, RealLifeTitusTwo.com where she shares her journey and what God is teaching her.
